We all love a good laughing fit from old mate Karl Stefanovic and the great man once again delivered on the Today Show this morning.
This time Channel Nine weatherman Steve Jacobs was responsible for the giggles. Stevo was doing a weather broadcast from a Petbarn store to promote their upcoming Valentine’s Day promotion when he made reference to disgraced NRL star Mitchell Pearce and his now infamous Australia Day shenanigans.
“This Valentine’s Day is going to be a big day when you can come along to Petbarns right around Australia and have a little bit of a dating service, not only to find a pet that is right for you, but the pet who can find the owner that is right for them,” said Jacobs.
“It’s Mitchell Pearce’s ultimate dream. Valentine’s Day in Petbarn.”
Defs not too soon at all Stevo, well played mate. Big Karl couldn’t contain himself and erupted in a fit of laughter, while co-host Lisa Wilkinson attempted to keep a straight face.
“Too much, too early? asked Jacobs in response to the laughter.
“Possibly too soon,” said Wilkinson, “but judging by the amount of laughter coming from my right, maybe not”.
Roosters halfback Pearce is currently in an overseas rehab clinic after admitting to having a problem with alcohol following the unsavoury incident.
In the video - which emerged in late January - Pearce appears to force an unwanted kiss on a female before simulating a sex act with a dog.
“I’ll f*** that dog,” he can be heard saying in the video, “I don’t give a f***, I don’t have a sexuality”.
