Gary Emmerson 28 Apr 2017
  • Sydney FC have won their last four games against Perth Glory
  • The three games this season have ended with a combined score of 11-2 to the Sky Blues
  • Perth have won their last three games, including last week's Elimination Final
Perth Glory and Sydney FC meet in the semi-finals.

Sydney FC should secure the first spot in the A-League Grand Final when they host Perth Glory in the semi-finals at Allianz Stadium on Saturday night.

Premiers Plate winners Sydney FC begin their finals campaign as clear favourites to defeat Perth Glory at Allianz Stadium and secure the first spot in the Grand Final.

Sydney FC are expected to secure the A-League championship after dominating the regular season en route to winning the minor premiership by 17 points.

The Sky Blues lost just one game all season and dropped just 15 points all campaign, the 20 wins including three comprehensive victories over Glory.

Sydney won 4-1 at home and 4-1 and 3-0 on two trips to Perth, leaving Kenny Lowe's Glory side needing to improve significantly if they are to trouble the Sky Blues.

Perth did produce an impressive defensive effort last week to pull off an upset with a 2-0 win over Melbourne City in their Elimination Final.

That makes it three straight wins for Perth, but they will need to step up another notch or two again if they are to trouble Sydney. It should be a comfortable win for the minor premiers.
