Sydney FC v Newcastle Jets Tips and Predictions - Sky Blues to add another win

Gary Emmerson 14 Apr 2017
  • Sydney have lost just one game all season, dropping just 15 points
  • Newcastle Jets have lost their last five games
  • The Jets have now gone nine games without a win

Milos Ninkovic returns for Sydney FC

Sydney FC will bid to end the regular season with a 20th win of the campaign and leave Newcastle Jets with the wooden spoon when the sides meet at Allianz Stadium on Saturday night.

It is top plays bottom to end the regular season for these two sides as Premiers Plate winner Sydney FC host Newcastle Jets.

The Sky Blues will look to sign off a near perfect season with a 20th win, and ensure they have dropped just one game and 15 points all campaign.

Graham Arnold's Sydney side are firm favourites for Grand Final victory and they should head into the finals on the back of another routine victory.

Newcastle Jets are facing up to winning the unwanted wooden spoon after a horror end to a season which had threatened to see them make the finals at one stage.

Five successive losses and no win since January 27 has left Mark Jones clinging to his job as Jets manager.

Newcastle have picked up just two points from a possible 27 and now head into Saturday's game needing a win to guarantee avoiding the wooden spoon, although a draw would see them jump over Adelaide United before the Reds play later in the day.

With the Jets having failed to score in their last four defeats and conceded 14 at the other end, this should have only one outcome.
