Perth Glory and Melbourne City bring the regular A-League season to a close at nib Stadium on Sunday in a match that could be a dress rehearsal of the opening week of the finals.
Melbourne City head to Perth knowing a victory will almost certainly see them finish in third spot, regardless of the outcome of Brisbane Roar's clash with Wellington Phoenix earlier in the day.
And with Glory sitting in sixth spot on the ladder, that result would ensure these two teams meet again next week when the A-League finals get underway next weekend.
Glory, however, will be out to pick up a point that would see them finish in fifth spot on the ladder at the expense of Western Sydney Wanderers - a result that equally could see Perth and Melbourne meet in the finals.
There are several scenarios that could set up an Elimination Final showdown between the two sides in Melbourne. Although a win for Perth by four clear goals would actually see them pip City for a top four spot.
Perth on their home patch are a tough proposition and look value to end the season with a win, but expect this one to have goals - games between Glory and City almost always do.
- A variety of results could see these two sides meet next weekend in the finals
- A Perth win by four clear goals would see them pip City to a top four spot
- The two previous meetings this season have finished 3-3 and 3-2
Marc Warren and Joe Knowles are added the Perth Glory squad which beat Brisbane Roar last weekend.
Melbourne City are boosted by the return of Ruon Tongyik from illness, while Daniel Arzani is also added to the squad.
