Prediction

Match Preview

It has been a disppointing opening month to the season for Melbourne Victory and coach Kevin Muscat with the premiership hopefuls still searching for their first win of the season.

Back-to-back defeats at home to ladder leaders Sydney FC and Melbourne City have been followed by successive draws on the road at Adelaide United and Central Coast Mariners, leaving Victory as one of four teams yet to win heading into A-League Round 5.

Having lost their opening two games at Etihad Stadium, Victory are bidding to avoid history with the Melbourne club never losing three in a row at the venue.

Once again Muscat will have to do without star striker Besart Berisha and the Melbourne coach will have to juggle his forwards to find a solution to the problem.

Wanderers will begin life under new coach Josep Gombau, who has been appointed as the long-term successor to Tony Popovic and replaces interim coach Hayden Foxe in charge of Western Sydney.

He will not be on the sidelines for the Monday night clash, however, with Foxe - who is unbeaten in four A-League games after an opening weekend win over Perth Glory and three straight draws with Central Coast Mariners, Sydney FC and Newcastle Jets - remaining in charge for one final game.

This Wanderers side is proving hard to beat and Victory will find that out on Monday night. It could be a fourth straight draw for Western Sydney and a third in a row for Melbourne.
