  • The three games between the sides this year have produced 20 goals
  • City won 2-0 when the two sides met at the same stage last year
  • Glory have won only one of their last 12 away games

Perth Glory and Melbourne City

Melbourne City and Perth Glory meet in the second A-League Elimination Final at AAMI Park on Sunday night with a semi-final showdown with Sydney FC awaiting the winner.

Match Preview

Just seven days after these two sides played out the most thrilling of clashes, they go head-to-head once again in the Elimination Final at AAMI Park.

Perth Glory's entralling 5-4 victory at nib Stadium ensured they finished fifth on the ladder and consigned City to fourth spot, meaning it was another clash for the right for a place in the semi-finals.

With Brisbane Roar having won the first Elimination Final, both City and Glory know that a date with minor premiers Sydney FC await next week should they win this showdown.

Glory finished the regular season by winning their last two games at home again Roar and City, but there form on the road has not been in the same league.

The last three trips for Kenny Lowe's side have ended with two draws and a defeat - and they have just one win in their last 12 away games. They will need to be a whole lot better in Melbourne on Sunday night.

The bad news is that they lost 2-0 to City at the same stage 12 months ago and failed to win in two visits to take on the Melbourne side this season, going down 3-2 before drawing 3-3.

Neither team have been crowned champions with only Glory having previously made it to a Grand Final, which they lost to Brisbane Roar in 2012. But City can keep their hopes of a first premiership alive by making the most of home advantage.
