Brisbane Roar head to Japan to take on Kashima Antlers on Tuesday in Matchday 3 of the AFC Champions League group stages looking to bounce back from an embarrassing defeat last time.
Brisbane Roar have yet to score in Group E, but it is problems at the other end of the field that John Aloisi will be keen to fix ahead of his side's trip to J-League side Kashima Antlers in Matchday 3.
Roar opened their campaign with a 0-0 draw with Thai outfit Muangthong United, but had a forgettable time of things when going down 6-0 to South Korea's K-League representatives Ulsan Hyundai two weeks ago.
Brisbane have benefitted from the newly-introduced A-League split round ahead of the trip to face Kashima Antlers, with Australia's three side given the weekend off to allow them to prepare fully for Matchday 3.
Aloisi will be have been drilling his side defensively to avoid a repeat of the heavy defeat to Ulsan as they look to get their AFC Champions League campaign back on track.
Kashima also suffered defeat in their previous game when going down 2-1 to Muangthong United, who are the surprising leaders in Group E after two games.
Since losing in Thailand, Masatada Ishii's Antlers side have recorded back-to-back 1-0 wins in the J-League and could be a tough nut to crack from a Brisbane side which has won just one of their last six games.
That win - a 3-1 success at Newcastle Jets - did come on the back of the embarrassment against Ulsan, but Aloisi's side are struggling for form and it could be another goalless 90 minutes for the Roar.
- Brisbane Roar have not scored in their two Group E games
- Roar have won just one of their last six games in all competitions
- Kashima Antlers have won all home games in 2017
