Huddersfield Town v Nottingham Forest Team News and Preview - Huddersfield searching for third successive win

Rippa Staff 24 Sep 2015
Huddersfield face Nottingham Forest on Thursday night.

Huddersfield Town are looking to pick up their third straight win in the Sky Bet Championship as they welcome Nottingham Forest to the Galpharm Stadium this Thursday night.

Huddersfield and Nottingham Forest kick off at 4.45am AEST Friday morning (7.45pm BST Thursday). The game will be streamed live online.

Match Preview

Huddersfield Town were being tipped for a difficult season in the Sky Bet Championship this year. So far however, Chris Powell's men are looking like a solid outfit in the second tier and with nine points on the board after eight fixtures, the West Yorkshire club find themselves in a respectable thirteenth place.

Back-to-back victories ahead of this match have hoisted the Terriers up into that spot and will have given the squad's confidence a huge boost. A victory against Powell's former club Charlton, followed by a 4-1 hammering of Bolton Wanderers, means that the home side are in tremendous form heading into this clash.

Nottingham Forest will have been disappointed with Saturday's televised defeat at home to Middlesbrough. After back-to-back away wins over Birmingham City and Queens Park Rangers, the Reds will have been hoping for another big performance against the title favourites but a late penalty miss saw them lose 2-1 to the Teessiders.

Dougie Freedman will be hoping to tap into the quality that saw his side pick up unexpected victories at St Andrew's Stadium and Loftus Road as a raft of deadline day loan signings continue to get to grips with the Scotman's style of play.

We fancy some goals in this game. Huddersfield Town smashed four past the Trotters in their last fixture ahead of this game and with the prolific ex-Bradford City striker Nahki Wells leading the line and linking up with the likes of Harry Bunn and Ismael Miller the home side have to be good for a goal in this clash.

The visitors have a fair few attacking talents of their own however. The Tricky Trees have found the net in each of their last five outings and conceded in four of those games, while the likes of Chris O'Grady, Jamie Ward and Dexter Blackstock provide quality and experience at this level.

Midfielder Emyr Huws has made a fine start to his Huddersfield Town career. The ex-Wigan Athletic man scored a brace in that 4-1 victory against Neil Lennon's side last week meaning he's now scored three times in his first three matches for the Terriers.

This fixture is an intriguing one. It's hard to tell whether Huddersfield will have the momentum from their back-to-back wins ahead of this fixture of whether Nottingham Forest's recent away displays will give them confidence as they make the trip to Yorkshire with a victory the aim.
