Gary Emmerson 14 Nov 2017

  • The last 21 meetings have been won with the last drawn match back in August 2010

Central Coast Mariners will riding high following last week's victory over Sydney FC and can back up that success with another win over out-of-sorts Adelaide United on Thursday night.

Central Coast v Adelaide kicks off at 7.50pm AEST at Central Coast Stadium.

Match Preview

Central Coast Mariners pulled off a huge upset last week, beating ladder leaders and reigning premiers Sydney FC 2-0 on the back of a hugely impressive performance at Central Coast Stadium.

Goals from Andrew Hoole and Jake McGing in each half earned the Mariners their first win of the season - and a fully deserved one too - as they inflicted a first loss of the campaign on the Sky Blues.

Paul Okon's Central Coast side are back in front of their home fans again on Thursday night as they kick off Round 7 of the A-League season as they hosts an Adelaide United side which has struggled in recent weeks.

Injuries haven't help Marco Kurz's side, but it is now three straight defeats in the A-League since Adelaide defeated Western Sydney Wanderers to book a place in the FFA Cup Final.

The Reds have lost at home to Melbourne City and Newcastle Jets and on the road at Perth Glory in the last three weeks, with injuries seemingly taking their toll on the Adelaide squad.

The losing run has seen Adelaide United slump to eighth on the ladder and with the FFA Cup Final against Sydney FC to come on Tuesday, Kurz will be desperate for his side to pick up some points in Gosford on Thursday night to boost morale.
