Bobby Reid of Bristol City takes a shot at goal

Bristol City will be looking to move off the foot of the Sky Bet Championship ladder this Friday when they host Nottingham Forest.

Bristol City vs Nottingham Forest will kick off at 5.45am AEST Saturday morning (7.45pm BST Friday). The game will be available to stream live online.

Match Preview

Bristol City are not really enjoying life back in the Championship following promotion from League One last season as they are rooted to the bottom.

The Robins have only collected seven points from a possible 30 this season with just one of their opening 10 matches ending in victory.

They ran out 1-0 winners in week four against Middlesbrough thanks to Joe Bryan’s early goal, but unfortunately for them they failed to back that up in any of their next six matches. They have lost three and drawn three since that win and come into this clash on the back of a 1-1 draw against MK Dons.

City boss Steve Cotterill has no fresh injury worries ahead of this clash but there could be a place on the bench for new signing Elliott Bennett.

Bennett has joined on loan from Premiership side Norwich City until January and the 26 year-old admits he cannot wait to get going and just wants regular football. He told the club website:

“As a player you always want to play football. I had a good chat with the manager (Alex Neil) at Norwich who has been brilliant with me, and I expressed my desire to play football. Thankfully Bristol City showed their faith in me.

“One thing you’ll get with me is I’ll always give 110% and I’ll never come off the pitch thinking 'I could have ran more' or ‘I could have done this more’. We’re all professionals and we all want to do as well as we can for whatever club we’re playing for and I’m no different.  I’ll give 110% for Bristol City and hopefully we can, as a team and a group, do well this season.”

Nottingham Forest are a team who fails to live up to the expectations put on them by others and once again find themselves in the lower half of the ladder after a less than impressive start.

The Reds are in 14th position on the table having won just three of their opening 10 matches and they will be eager to end a run of three games without success.

Since beating Birmingham City 1-0 in week seven they have lost two and drawn one and head into this clash on the back of a 1-0 home loss at the hands of Hull City.

Forest will be without injured Britt Assombalonga once again, while defender Matt Mills sits this one out through suspension. Jamie Ward is pushing for a starting place on the wing.
