Adelaide host Perth on Sunday

It’s second vs third in Round 4 of the A-League on Sunday as FFA Cup champion Adelaide United come up against the in-form Perth Glory at Coopers Stadium.

Two in-form teams collide at Coopers Stadium on Sunday afternoon, with FFA Cup champions Adelaide and the improving Perth Glory squaring off for all three points.

Adelaide are coming into this encounter on the back of a dream week that yielded a brilliant 2-1 win over Sydney FC in the FFA Cup final and a dominant 3-0 triumph over the Central Coast Mariners in Round 3 of the A-League.

The Reds remain unbeaten this season, drawing with Sydney and Newcastle over their first two rounds, arriving in Round 4 in third spot on the ladder.

Craig Goodwin has been a revelation since returning to Adelaide and he will be keen for another big game in front of his home fans after bagging a brace in his last two outings against Sydney and Central Coast.

Meanwhile, Perth are flying high in second position on the table after also going unbeaten across the first three rounds of the season, beginning their campaign with a 1-1 draw against the Wanderers before taking out Melbourne Victory and Brisbane Roar over the last fortnight.

Andy Keogh is rivalling Goodwin for early player of the season honours, with the Irish striker scoring in each of the opening three rounds, while he’s enjoyed recent success against Adelaide, scoring five goals in his last six games against the club.

Tony Popovic’s influence is already being felt around the club as Glory look to establish themselves as genuine premiership contenders this season.

Adelaide have had the wood over Perth in recent contests at home, losing just one of the last nine at Coopers. But Glory are in great form to start he campaign and have scored in each of their last 15 A-League games, so the Reds will likely need to find the back of the net twice in order to win. I’m going to back the draw and both teams to remain unbeaten.
