Adelaide United v Newcastle Jets Predictions and Match Preview - Reds host unbeaten Jets

Gary Emmerson 9 Nov 2017
  • Adelaide United have lost just one of the last seven A-League meetings
  • Newcastle Jets have not won in Adelaide in four years
  • At least one side has failed to score in nine of the last 12 head to heads

Adelaide United will bid to arrest a three-game run without a win when they host the unbeaten Newcastle Jets at Coopers Stadium on Saturday.

Adelaide v Newcastle kicks off at 5.35pm AEST at Coopers Stadium.

Prediction

Match Preview

Adelaide United have hit a bit of a road block over the last three weeks, picking up just a point from their last three games to slip off the pace in the A-League.

And things don't get any easier for the Reds this weekend when the in-form and so-far unbeaten Newcastle Jets make the trip to Coopers Stadium for a Round 6 clash on Saturday.

It is now just one win in five games for Adelaide this season, and successive defeats at home to Melbourne City and on the road at Perth Glory last week leave Marco Kurz's side with five points to their name.

Newcastle, on the other hand, are absolutely flying under Ernie Merrick with three wins and two draws from the opening five weeks of the campaign to sit in third place on the ladder.

It has been the attacking exploits of the Jets that has been particularly impressive, and they showed that again last week when defeating Wellington Phoenix 3-0 at home.

The Jets have won on both road trips this season and they are value to collect all three points again and make it a first win at Adelaide since November 2013, a run that also includes defeat in Round 32 of the FFA Cup earlier this year.
