Adelaide United will bid to collect their first points in AFC Champions League Group H when they host Jeju United at Coopers Stadium on Wednesday night.

Adelaide United's poor A-League form has carried over into the AFC Champions League with the Australian champions yet to collect a point in Group H after two games.

The Reds suffered a 3-0 loss at home to J-League side Gamba Osaka in their group opener before going down to Chinese Super League outfit Jiangsu FC 2-1 on the road on Matchday 2.

It leaves Guillermo Amor's side looking for a positive result against the South Korean K-League side Jeju when they visit Coopers Stadium on Wednesday.

The bad news for Adelaide is that there has been little sign of a return to the form that saw them win the A-League Grand Final 10 months ago.

The Reds have won just one of their last nine games in all competitions and the struggle for goals continues with just four in the last seven games.

Adelaide have, however, benefitted from the newly-introduced A-League split round ahead of the clash with Jeju, with Australia's three sides given the weekend off to allow them to prepare fully for Matchday 3.

Jeju have started the K-League season in winning form with two victories from as many games without conceding and they look in ominous form following 1-0 and 3-0 wins on the domestic front.

Those wins followed a Matchday 1 defeat to Jiangsu FC as they went down 1-0 at home, and an impressive 4-1 victory at Gamba Osaka on Matchday 2. And it should be two wins from three for the K-League side.

Stats

  • Adelaide United have won only one of their last nine games
  • The Reds are pointless after two group games
  • Jeju United have won their last three games
