Sydney FC have been installed as favourites to bounce back from last year's disappointment by winning the A-League premiership in the 2018/19 season.

Despite beginning a new era without coach Graham Arnold, last year's beaten finalists are the $4.50 favourites with bookmaker Sportsbet.

The Sky Blues did the double in 2016/17 but had to settle for just the Premiers Plate as regular season champions last year having gone down at the semis stage of the A-League Finals.

Melbourne Victory set a new record of four A-League premierships when defeating Newcastle Jets in the final and Kevin Muscat's side are $5.00 to go back-to-back this year.

Cross-town rivals Melbourne City, who were also eliminated at the semi-final stage, are the same $5.00 price despite having never played in Grand Final previously.

Last year's beaten finalists Newcastle Jets sit alongside Western Sydney Wanderers as $8.00 chances with Adelaide United ($9.50) the only other team at single figure odds.

Brisbane Roar and Perth Glory are both $12 with last year's wooden spoonists Wellington Phoenix ($23) and Central Coast Mariners ($26) once again the outsiders.
