The six teams who will play in the A-League finals are already known but there will be jostling on the last weekend of the regular season to decide who plays who in the Elimination Finals.
With Premiers Plate winners Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory assured of the top two spots on the ladder, we now know it will be Melbourne City, Brisbane Roar, Perth Glory and Western Sydney Wanderers who will fill third to sixth spots.
But the final round of the regular season sees the four sides determine who they will face in the opening weekend of the finals.
As it stands, Melbourne City will face Western Sydney Wanderers and Brisbane Roar will host Perth Glory but things could change after the Round 27 games.
City and Roar both sit on 39 points with the Melbourne side having a goal difference one better. Glory are three points adrift of both and would need a significant turnaround if they are to overhaul either and secure a home final. Wanderers, meanwhile, are a point further back and can only hope for fifth at best by leapfrogging Perth.
Western Sydney get the chance to stake their claim for fifth when they travel to face Adelaide United on Saturday night.
Then on Sunday it is Roar who play first as they entertain a Wellington Phoenix, who saw their hopes of making the finals end last weekend despite holding minor premiers Sydney FC to a 1-1 draw.
The final game of the regular season could be a big one for the final picture with City taking on Glory in Perth. Glory would need to win by four clear goals to overtake City on the ladder.
Earlier in the weekend, the action kicks off when Melbourne Victory take on Central Coast Mariners on Friday, while the early game on Saturday sees Sydney FC travel to McDonald Jones Stadium to face Newcastle Jets, who currently occupy bottom spot on goal difference and are in line for the wooden spoon.
