Glory and Roar clash on Saturday night

Western Sydney Wanderers, Brisbane Roar and Perth Glory battle it out for the sixth and last spot in the 2017/18 A-League finals series when the last round of the regular season takes place this weekend.

Perth and Brisbane collide in a huge match on Saturday night at nib Stadium as both sides look to temporarily leapfrog the Wanderers into sixth place. Glory’s 2-0 win over Newcastle lifted them to within one point of sixth, while Brisbane slipped outside the finals positions after suffering a heavy 3-0 defeat to the Wanderers - who in turn took sixth spot heading into this weekend.

A win for either side would see them climb into sixth, however they would need Adelaide United - who have nothing to play for after already wrapping up fifth - to beat or draw with the Wanderers on Sunday at ANZ Stadium. For the Wanderers, destiny is in their own hands - win and a finals berth is theirs.

Round 27 kicks off at Allianz Stadium as Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory clash in the Big Blue. Sydney sealed back-to-back minor premierships a couple of weeks ago, but they will want to carry some winning momentum into the semi-finals - where they could meet Victory once again, with Kevin Muscat’s side hoping to overtake rivals City and finish third in the regular season.

Melbourne City will be hoping to hold onto third spot by defeating Wellington Phoenix in the first game on Saturday, with the Kiwi club set for the wooden spoon if they don’t win, while the Newcastle Jets will be desperate to snap a three-match losing streak going into the semi-finals when they face rivals Central Coast Mariners in Gosford in the second game on Saturday night.
