Both New South Wales and Queensland have made changes to their teams ahead of the second State of Origin game on Sunday night at ANZ Stadium.

NSW are one win away from securing just a second Origin series victory since 2005, but they have been forced into at least one change after Regan Campbell-Gillard went down with a broke jaw on the weekend, with the Panthers forward set to miss the next six weeks of action.

Matt Prior, Ryan James and Tariq Sims have all been selected in a 20-man extended NSW squad, with all three fighting for Campbell-Gillard’s spot on the team.

That’s not the only selection headache for coach Brad Fittler, with Latrell Mitchell (neck) and James Maloney (back) also under some doubt. Luke Keary has been brought in as cover for Maloney, while Tyrone Peachey will likely slot in at left centre for the Blues if Mitchell doesn’t recover in time.

Queensland meanwhile have bit the bullet and handed an Origin debut to rising star Kalyn Ponga. The 20-year-old has been on fire for the Knights this season and is set to play his first game for the Maroons off the bench, replacing Anthony Milford as the utility option.

However, there is a chance Ponga could even debut at fullback, with Billy Slater still battling a niggling hamstring injury that forced him out of Game 1.

Queensland coach Kevin Walters has also brought in Melbourne forward Tim Glasby as cover for Dylan Napa, with the Roosters enforcer injuring his ankle on Friday night against Penrith.
