Parramatta Eels v South Sydney Rabbitohs NRL Preview and Predictions - Bunnies to make it seven in a row

Gary Emmerson 12 Jun 2018
  • South Sydney Rabbitohs have won their last six games
  • Parramatta Eels have won only three games all season
  • The Eels did do the double over Souths in 2017

South Sydney Rabbitohs bid for a seventh straight win when they clash with the Parramatta Eels at ANZ Stadium on Thursday night in the opening game of NRL Round 15.

Eels v Rabbitohs kicks off at 7.50pm AEST at ANZ Stadium. The game will be broadcast live on Fox Sports and Channel 9 in Australia.

Prediction

Match Preview

There has been no stopping South Sydney Rabbitohs in recent weeks with the Bunnies making it six wins in a row when they defeated Gold Coast Titans 18-16 last Friday night.

The Bunnies held off the Titans without four key stars with Greg Inglis, Dane Gagai, Angus Crichton and Damien Cook all absent after playing in State of Origin Game 1.

With the quartet back on deck, Souths will attempt to extend the winning run to seven games and move to the top of the ladder - temporarily at least - when they face a Parramatta Eels side which also comes into the clash at ANZ Stadium on the back of a win.

Struggling Parramatta ended a five-game losing streak with 20-14 win over the North Queensland Cowboys last Saturday, but it was only their third victory of the season and they remain rooted to the foot of the ladder.

History gives the Eels a chance with the points going back to Parramatta in three of the last five meetings between the sides, including both contests in 2017 when they recorded matching 22-16 wins at ANZ Stadium in Round 12 and Round 26.

But these two sides have gone in opposite directions since that Round 26 clash and this one should go only one way as the Souths make it the magnificent seven.

Stats

  • South Sydney Rabbitohs have won their last six games
