Dragons and Warriors clash on Friday night

St George Illawarra Dragons and New Zealand Warriors collide in a huge top-of-the-table showdown on Friday night in NRL Round 7 action.

Nobody would have predicted the Dragons to be the only unbeaten side in the competition after six rounds, while no one would have picked the Warriors to be their nearest challengers, but here we are, with the two sides squaring off on Friday night at Mt Smart Stadium. The Dragons made it six wins from six after easing past the Sharks last week, while the Warriors suffered their first loss of the season at home against the Broncos.

Round 6 kicks off at ANZ Stadium as old rivals Canterbury Bulldogs and Sydney Roosters clash for the second time this season. The Roosters come into this encounter on the back of a poor loss to the Rabbitohs last week, while the Bulldogs picked up just their second win of the campaign with a big away triumph over the Cowboys.

Brisbane Broncos play host to reigning premiers Melbourne Storm in the second game on Friday night at Suncorp Stadium. Brisbane collected a much-needed win over the Warriors in Auckland last week, while the Storm returned to the winners circle after back-to-back defeats with a convincing win over the Knights.

Super Saturday begins in Gosford as the South Sydney Rabbitohs take their home game against Canberra Raiders to the Central Coast. Souths will be buoyed after their great win over the Roosters, while the Raiders are targeting three wins on the bounce after victories over Canterbury and Parramatta over the last fortnight.

Wests Tigers then look to continue their sensational start to the season when they meet the Newcastle Knights at Scully Park. The Tigers were outstanding in posting their biggest win of the season over Manly on Sunday, while the Knights conceded 40 points in a heavy away loss to Melbourne.

North Queensland Cowboys will be desperate for two points when they attempt to snap a five-match losing streak against the Gold Coast Titans at 1300SMILES Stadium in the final game on Saturday night. The Titans will also be trying to bounce back after suffering a 35-12 loss to the Panthers.

Currently 0-6 for the season and the only winless team, the Parramatta Eels aim to get off the mark on Sunday afternoon when they face traditional rivals Manly Sea Eagles. The Eels slumped to their sixth straight loss of 2018 when they went down 18-2 to the Raiders last week, while Manly will be hoping for a much-improved performance after their 38-12 loss to the Tigers.

Round 6 action concludes at Southern Cross Group Stadium on Sunday when the Cronulla Sharks host the high-flying Penrith Panthers. Cronulla have lost their last two matches and are suffering from several injury concerns to star players, while the Panthers have an excellent 5-1 record after beating Gold Coast on Sunday.
