Titans and Sea Eagles clash on Saturday night

Cronulla Sharks and North Queensland Cowboys launch NRL Round 11 action this Thursday night at Southern Cross Group Stadium.

Both teams head into the clash on the back of last-start victories over top eight opposition, with the Sharks downing the Dragons 18-14 and the Cowboys easing to a 30-14 win over the Bulldogs.

New Zealand Warriors play host to the St George Illawarra Dragons in the first game on Friday night at the FMG Stadium in Waikato. The Warriors are reeling after blowing a massive half-time lead to fall to the Panthers last week, while the Dragons will be keen to break back into the top four after suffering three straight losses.

Brisbane Broncos look to continue their push up the ladder when they entertain the struggling Wests Tigers in the second game on Friday at Suncorp Stadium. The Broncos produced a superb comeback to take down the Sea Eagles on the weekend, while the hapless Tigers were never in the hunt during a heavy loss to the Rabbitohs.

Fresh from their thrilling triumph over the Melbourne Storm, the Gold Goast Coast Titans target a fourth consecutive win when they face the Manly Sea Eagles. Gold Coast have defeated both of last year’s grand finalists in the last few weeks, while Manly saw their momentum snapped after blowing a 14-point lead against Brisbane on Saturday.

The second game on Saturday night pits the Parramatta Eels up against the Canberra Raiders. Both teams are coming into this game off extremely poor showings in Round 10, with the Eels suffering a 40-point loss to the Roosters and Canberra falling to bottom-placed Newcastle.

Speaking of the Knights, can Nathan Brown’s men string together consecutive wins for the first time in two years when they host fellow strugglers the Penrith Panthers in the first game on Sunday? Penrith cannot afford to slip up again, especially after their big comeback win over the Warriors.

Long-term rivals Canterbury Bulldogs and Sydney Roosters collide for the second time this season on Sunday. The Bulldogs were poor and never looked like making an impact against the Cowboys last Thursday, while the Roosters were sublime in picking apart Parramatta.

Round 11 action concludes on Sunday evening when the South Sydney Rabbitohs square off against the Melbourne Storm at nib Stadium in Perth. The Rabbitohs are hoping to build on their win over the Tigers on Friday, while Melbourne are looking for an immediate bounce back after being pipped by the Titans late on Saturday.
