NSW have named an unchanged team for Origin III

New South Wales have named an unchanged side for the State of Origin decider at Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday July 12, but there’s a number of injury concerns surrounding key members of the side.

Captain Boyd Cordner is dealing with a calf injury, James Tedesco is battling an ankle problem and Dragons duo Tyson Frizell and Josh Dugan are fighting back and cork injuries respectively.

NSW haven’t gone an entire series without making a change to their 17-man team since 1996, with coach Laurie Daley sweating on the fitness of the aforementioned foursome, with Frizell reportedly the most likely to miss the clash.

“There’s some concern there but we thought we’d give the guys the opportunity to prove their fitness,” Daley said at Monday’s announcement.
“We started with this team, we want to finish with this team. We’ve done a lot over the last couple of weeks.
“Obviously we weren’t good enough two weeks ago. It’s a big game for us coming up. I know the guys are all determined and we’ll put in a strong performance.”

Matt Moylan, Tom Trbojevic and Jordan McLean are the the men in line to replace any player that goes down injured having been involved in the Blues camp throughout the Origin series.

Jack de Belin has been named 18th man again, although he is also battling a calf issue.

NSW side: James Tedesco, Blake Ferguson, Josh Dugan, Jarryd Hayne, Brett Morris, James Maloney, Mitchell Pearce, Aaron Woods, Nathan Peats, Andrew Fifita, Josh Jackson, Boyd Cordner (capt), Tyson Frizell. Interchange: David Klemmer, Wade Graham, Jake Trbojevic, Jack Bird. 18th man: Jack De Belin
