Canberra Raiders play host to South Sydney Rabbitohs in a top four showdown when the two sides collide in the nation’s capital on Saturday night in NRL Round 10 action.

Canberra find themselves in a top four blockbuster against a Sydney club for the second week running as they come up against the Rabbitohs on Saturday night.

One of the form teams in the competition over the first nine rounds, the Raiders now know what they need to do to go to the next level as they were taught a first half lesson by reigning premiers the Roosters last week.

Indeed, the Roosters sprinted out to a 30-6 lead, and although the Raiders were able to produce a late comeback and come close to forcing golden point, they ultimately fell short 30-24.

Unfortunately, the Raiders have lost a bunch of key figures in recent weeks, including Joey Leilua, Jordan Rapana and John Bateman, and that’s coincided with some defeats. Can they bounce back against the high-flying Rabbitohs on Saturday night?

Souths are on a roll and arguably the form team in the competition as they beat the Cowboys 32-16 last week to move up into second spot on the ladder.

The only team to beat the Roosters this season, Souths are firing under the tutelage of Wayne Bennett and are already looking like the team most likely to stop Trent Robinson’s side from going back-to-back.

Bennett does have to deal with a bit of injury trouble this week, with Alex Johnston out with a knee problem. Corey Allan moves to the fullback position, while Mawene Hiroti comes onto the wing for just his second NRL game.

Canberra do have a great record against Souths, winning four of their last five encounters, but I think they’ll fall just short with some of their star players out. The Rabbitohs are flying and on the rare times they are pushed, they usually are able to dig out a win. I think they’ll be too strong on Saturday.
