MasterChef: Favourite Ben Ungermann heads three-way battle

  • Three chefs dominate the betting to win the show

The battle to be crowned MasterChef champion looks down to three with Ben Ungermann edging favouritism to win Series 9 of the Network Ten show.

Ten chefs remain in the hunt to win the coveted prize, but online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au think it is a three-way fight between Ben, Diana Chan and Eliza Wilson.

Ben, a 32-year-old retail manager from Queensland, heads betting at $2.20 to be crowned MasterChef champion.

However, 29-year-old Victorian accountant Diana Chan ($3.00) and fellow Victorian Eliza Wilson ($4.00), a 30-year-old theatre nurse, are also popular with punters with the leading trio dominating the betting market.

New South Wales student Callan Smith ($23), this season’s youngest contestant at 18, has received steady support along with 26-year-old New South Wales risk consultant Sarah Tiong ($9.00).
