Australia wrap up their Pool A campaign at the Cricket World Cup when they face Scotland at Bellerive Oval in Hobart on Saturday.

The tournament hosts will look to send out a warning to their Cricket World Cup rivals by heading into the quarter-finals with an emphatic victory over Scotland.

The game gets underway at 2.30pm AEDT and will be broadcast live on Channel Nine in Australia. Coverage will also be available online.

Preview

This is another of those inconsequential games of the league stage of the tournament, with Australia having already made it to the quarter-finals as the second-best team of the group and Scotland having already been knocked out of the tournament.

Scotland have never won a game in the World Cups and Australia need a lot of momentum going into the quarter-finals. Since their defeat at the hands of New Zealand, Australia have been able to overcome Afghanistan and Sri Lanka with much ease thanks to some excellent batting. Expect them to pile up another big one.

Australia brought in Shane Watson and batted him at six last game. It turned out to be a good move, as Steven Smith, promoted up to three made 72, and Watson himself chipped in with a 41-ball 67. Glenn Maxwell became the star of the show for Australia against Sri Lanka though, smashing a 53-ball 102 and helping them through to 376.

Watson's bowling was tested though, as he went for 71 from his seven overs. It was also interesting to see that Xavier Doherty got his first game in place of the third seamer, something that could change for this game with Pat Cummins or Josh Hazlewood to return to the side.

Scotland have sent back Majid Haq home after he broke a contractual clause after being dropped from the team for the previous game. He was replaced by Freddie Coleman, while Rob Taylor and Michael Leask also came in for Hamish Gardiner and Iain Wardlaw. Expect them to get another go for this one.

There have been four matches played between these two sides and Australia have won all of them.

Predictions

Australia to win
David Warner to top-score for Australia
Preston Mommsen to top-score for Scotland
